After six months of backpacking across South America and the US, Dylan was at a crossroads - give up traveling and move back to Kansas and resort to carpentry or continue onward. To Dylan this wasn't a choice. Forward was the only direction he was willing to go, but with no money... how to do it? A van seemed like an affordable option that would allow for constant travel as well as serve as a home base. Van it was.
Dylan bought Gladys, a 1992 Chevy G20, in Maine for $2,000. After a couple months of traveling with friends in an unconverted van, it was time to convert it. Dylan drove back to Olathe, KS, and began the conversion process. One month later, and about 3 and a half grand of debt, Dylan was equipped with a mobile living unit and he hit the open road.
From Maine to the Oregon coast, Dylan has been filming the whole way. Dylan's YouTube channel, where he creates short documentaries on alternative styles of living, gained a lot of momentum and is now his career. A filmmaker, pavement pirate, and lover of life, Dylan travels with his land yacht, Gladys, and creates as he moves.
The next step is the Mediterranean. Dylan's plan is to go to Florida and attend sailing school after which he will hop aboard a ship and cross the Atlantic Ocean. Once in Europe, the next challenge is to manifest a boat and a crew. Big plans this year... Stay tuned.
